The first advertising service for Australian brands on the social network has been launched, with advertisers being able to set up their own ad campaigns.
Advertisers can start with a simple three-step process, with a basic price of $4,000 and up to 50 brands.
“We wanted to create an environment where we could see brands in a whole new way, not just through their Instagram accounts,” said CEO of advertising and marketing agency Adequate Marketing, Sam Blyth.
“Advertiser can create and monetise their own Instagram posts, they can create a brand and they can monetise it with their own brands, and they could even use the Instagram ad system to build up brand loyalty with their customers.”
Mr Blythes agency has been in the advertising industry for more than 20 years, and he said it was the first time they had seen an ad service that offered a complete product line.
“I think what we’re doing here is a very interesting opportunity, and a great opportunity for a lot of brands to find an avenue into the marketplace that they’ve never had before,” he said.
“This is something that we’ve been working on for a long time and we’ve only just seen it happen.”
Adequate also uses the Instagram platform to promote its own advertising products.
It is using the Instagram Adwords platform to target brands with relevant content.
The service is currently available to small and medium sized companies and businesses, with an emphasis on the Australian market.
Adequates service is not the first of its kind in the world, with other Australian agencies offering similar products to those found on Instagram.
A recent report from the company found that 30 per cent of all the world’s advertising revenue comes from social media platforms.
