The Serie A is expected to suffer a massive financial hit if the new FIFA regulations are implemented, as most of the clubs in the top flight will have to pay for TV rights.
According to a report in La Repubblica, the revenue from TV rights will increase by more than 20 percent, while clubs will have the option to sell their TV rights to pay off debts.
It will also make it impossible for the top clubs to pay their players for their international duty, with the new rules expected to affect the wages of most players.
It is expected that clubs will not be able to pay the salaries of players, and will have less money to spend on transfers.
The regulations will be put into effect at the start of the 2019-20 season, with all clubs allowed to apply for approval to implement them in the summer of 2020.
The new regulations are expected to be approved by FIFA in mid-September.
